{"id":597637,"date":"2023-10-03T14:03:14","date_gmt":"2023-10-03T13:03:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thefrontrowunion.com\/?p=597637"},"modified":"2023-10-03T14:03:14","modified_gmt":"2023-10-03T13:03:14","slug":"2-xv-league-city-of-armagh-ii-21-instonians-ii-14","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging.thefrontrowunion.com\/frusport\/?p=597637","title":{"rendered":"2 XV League: City of Armagh II 21 Instonians II 14"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">I continued my day trip to the Orchard County by visiting City of Armagh RFC for a couple of games.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">I caught the  first half of the eagerly anticipated 2nd  XV League match between City of Armagh IIs and Instonian IIs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Unfortunately the conditions made this game more of a battle of attrition than the free flowing rugby specticle I was anticipating. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">In a game which largely lurched from scrum to lineout it was Armagh who took the lead after seven minutes after working some space out on the left for <strong>Adam Hegarty<\/strong> to cross unopposed. Brayden Laing converted from the touch line to make it 7-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thefrontrowunion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/20230930-Armagh-v-Instonians-014-John-McMurtry-1-800x450.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-597708\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Adam Hegarty comes away with the ball after scoring the opening try for Armagh. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Seven minutes later a series of penalties put Instonians in the Armagh 22 and after a couple of attempts out half <strong>Josh Eagleson<\/strong> battled over in the corner. <strong>Jonathon Milliken<\/strong> added the extras to tie the game 7 &#8211; 7. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thefrontrowunion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/20230930-Armagh-v-Instonians-038-John-McMurtry-1-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-597715\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Josh Eagleson evades the traffic to score in the corner for Instonians. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Armagh looked to have the bulk of territory in the remainder of the half but it truth it was all a bit of a grind in the middle of the park a the heavy rain continued to fall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Instonians started to ratchet things up towards the end of the half and a second period of pressure in the Armagh red zone ended with <strong>Jack Patterson<\/strong> crashing over, with an assist from <strong>Alan Whitten<\/strong>.
