On Saturday Garryowen had the long drive from Limerick to face Queens in an AIL1B league fixture at The Dub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Queens took the lead, in this high scoring game, when Jonny Hunter<\/strong> crossed, on the right, after 14 minutes. A James Humphreys<\/strong> penalty goal, on 16 minutes, put Queens 8-0 up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Queens rather lost their way for the remainder of the half. A Kelvin Langan<\/strong> penalty goal, followed by a Dean Fanning<\/strong> try, a Donnacha Byrne<\/strong> try and Langan conversion had Garryowen leading 15-8 at halftime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the break it only got worse for Queens. Tries by Colm Quilligan<\/strong> and Patrick McAlpine<\/strong> pushed Garryowen out to 25-8 and Queens looked dead and buried.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Somewhere in there Harry Long scored<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Then it changed! Harry Long<\/strong>\u2019s try pulled Queens back to 13-25 after 52 minutes. Peter Heasley<\/strong>\u2019s try and Humphreys conversion after 59 minutes had Queens back to 20-25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suddenly passes stuck. Garryowen had no answer to Queens attacking from deep, spreading the ball wide. Hunter\u2019s 2nd<\/sup> try and Humphreys conversion put Queens into the lead 27-25, after 63 minutes. On 65 minutes Lorcan McLaughlin<\/strong>\u2019s try and Humphreys conversion had Queens leading 34-25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Queens attacked in waves. Lucas Kenny<\/strong>\u2019s 70th<\/sup> minute try, and Humphreys conversion moved Queens out to 41-25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Garryowen had the last say when Nicky Green<\/strong> ran in a try, after 75 minutes, for Langan to convert for a final score of 41-32. Queens bonus point win consolidates their 4th<\/sup> place position in AIL1B.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
