Italy had taken the honours in the pool game between these side and it looked like they might record a double over the Scots as Davide Arioso scored first for Italy to give them a 0 – 1 half time lead after a tense first half.

However, Scotland had other ideas and Fraser Moran got an equalizer soon after the break with Jamie Golden getting his first of the day, six minutes later to take Scotland into a 2 – 1 lead at the end of a battling third quarter which saw a late flurry of cards.

Andrew Lochrin made it 3 – 1 to the Scots, mid way through the final quarter and, with Italy chasing the game and pulling their goalkeeper, Golden got his second and Scotlands 4th , three minutes from time, to seal the game and take the bronze metal.
