On a sunny, warm Saturday afternoon, Belfast Harlequins hosted Dromore, in a preseason friendly, played over 3 periods, at Deramore Park.

Both teams were willing to throw the ball around, from kick off. Luke McGarrity found himself, in space, out on the right, before dotting down, on 9 minutes. Johnny McCracken’s conversion made it 7-0 to Quins. A Jack Stinson try, after 20 minutes, moved Quins out to 12-0.
Dromore replied after 24 minutes, through a Ross Stewart try, on the right, converted by Adam McDonald, to leave Dromore trailing 7-12, at the end of the 1st period.

Quins pressure led to tries by Ben Porter, 33 minutes, and Kieran Tomlinson, 54 minutes, converted by McCracken and Jack Bonner, gave Quins a 26-7 lead. McDonald’s try and conversion on 60 minutes pulled Dromore back to 14-26, at the end of the 2nd period.
Tomlinson’s 71st minute try, converted by McCracken, gave Quins a commanding 33-14 lead. Dromore had the last say, when, after running the ball from deep, Jack Allen crossed in the 80th minute and a 33-19 score line to Quins.
