Rain threatened, as Campbell College entertained Dublin side, Blackrock College, at Fox’s Field, on Saturday morning.
Blackrock opened the scoring with a Conor O’Shaughsey penalty goal after 9 minutes. After a period of pressure Campbell rolled a lineout maul over, after 18 minutes, Jed Dornan getting the touchdown. Henry Ralston’s conversion put Campbell 7-3 up.

Blackrock responded with a series of forward drives. Niall Smyth drove over from close range, after 24 minutes. O’Shaughsey’s conversion gave Blackrock a 10-7 lead. Ralston’s 28th minute penalty goal levelled the scores at 10-10.
Jonny O’Sullivan’s 32nd minute try and O’Shaughsey’s conversion put Blackrock 17-10 up before O’Shaughsey’s penalty goal gave Black Rock a 20-10 halftime lead.

Blackrock took charge after the break. Charlie Maloney’s 37th minute try and O’Shaughsey’s conversion moved Blackrock 27-10 up. They enjoyed territorial dominance until Campbell broke out for Tayo Olusanya to drive over for a 57th minute try to bring Campbell back to 15-27.
Blackrock had the final say with Jack Angulo’s 66th minute try and O’Shaughsey’s conversion to leave the final score 34-15 to Blackrock, as the threatened rain now fell heaviy.
