After catching an early Saturday morning 1st XI Superleague hockey match at Dromore I popped on down to Banbridge Academy for the second half of their senior friendly match against Enniskillen Royal Grammar School.
The first half was ending on my arrival with Banbridge defending a 7 – 0 lead by virtue of a Luke Charman try and Andrew Jackson conversion.

Enniskillen were quick out of the blocks at the start of the second half with a try from Cameron Smith, converted by Tadhg Hambley to take the score to 7 – 7.

The Academy hit back six minutes later with a try from Adam Logan, converted by Jackson, to restore their seven point lead.

It was nip and tuck for the next 25 minutes with Jonny McCrum featuring strongly for Banbridge. Fittingly, good work from McCrum led to Ryan Hanna going over for the deciding score with minutes to go. The reliable Jackson made it three conversion from three to give Banbridge a 21 – 7 win.
