We caught up with the Ulster and Connacht U18 Girls Squads on Sunday as the enjoyed a hit out as part of their training weekend at Campbell College Belfast.
It promises to be a busy summer for the Ulster girls with up to five game pencilled in before they hit the Interprovincials in mid August.
This game was very much a squad hit out with both teams training together over the weekend. There were plenty of changes to the teams over five 15 minute periods of play and no conversions were taken.

Connacht had the better of the first two periods with No 11 crossing after 2 minutes to give the visitors a 0 – 5 lead.
Ulster battled back with our Academy Girls Cara McLean and Ruby Starrett working some training ground moves but Ulster were too slow to react to take advantage of their chances and Connacht doubled their lead in the second period to take the score to 0 – 10.

It was far from one way traffic but Connacht certainly knew how to finish off their chances with No 4 and No 16 both crosong in the third period to push the score out to 0 – 20.
The teams swapped scores in the fourth period with No 12 crashing over for Connacht before Orlaith Breen replied for Ulster to take it to 5 – 25.

Ulster had the final say with a break from deep by winger Aoibhin Smith to give a final score of Ulster 10 Connacht 25.
All in all a useful work out for both sets of players.
