I picked up a quick 25 minutes of the women’s hockey friendly between Queen’s University 2nd XI and Club KV early Saturday afternoon at the Dub.
It was an enjoyable game which was keenly contested while I was there.
Queen’s took an early lead with the mercurial Megan Getty threading the opener between the keeper and defenders for a 1 – 0 lead.

Club KV battled back well and they won a penalty corner shortly after which was camly converted by India Steen to take the score to 1 – 1.
However, Queen’s went back in from with the last play of the quarter with Getty knocking in her second from a tight angle in the D.
Queen’s continued to push forward in the 2nd quarter but their was no further score by the time I left, about half way through.

The students must have finished strongly as they ran out 6 – 1 winners at full time with Getty bagging 2 more, for a total of 4, with Amy Kimber and Claire Whiteside also scoring.
