Our second game at Roughfort on Saturday was the Provincial Regional East match between Academy 2nd XV and Malone 3rd XV.
Having covered a 10 – 0 win by Owls in the hockey earlier I’m afraid this one was equally one sided as Academy ran in 10 tries against an out of sorts Malone.
Harry Warke opened the scoring with two tries in the first twenty minutes, both converted by Tom Davis to take the score to 14 – 0.
Davis crossed six minutes later to be quickly followed by Henry George, Andrew Greer and Charlie George to take the score to 49 – 0 at the break after Davis converted them all.
The pace let up a bit in the second half with Warke completing his hat trick, Davis scoring a second try and Ryan Jameson crossing for the final score and a convincing 70 – 0 win for Academy!
