Late Saturday Afternoon, under lights Pegasus and Ulster Elks met in an All Ireland Women’s 1st Division game at The Dub, Queens. As befits a local derby encounter, there was an edge to the game as Pegasus sought to gain their first points of the season.

Both keepers were in action early on, but defences reigned supreme in a scoreless 1st quarter.

The 2nd quarter was much of the same fare. Zara Malseed opened the scoring for Pegasus, the 24th minute, following a penalty corner move. Despite chances at both ends they took the 1-0 lead into halftime.

It was end to end in the 3rd quarter, with both defences scrambling at times to preserve their goals. A goalless 3rd quarter set up a tense final quarter.

With the clock running down Elks won a penalty stroke in the 58th minute. Serena Campuzano converted to tie the scores 1-1. There was time for chances at both ends before the final whistle sounded on a honours even 1-1 draw.
