We caught up with the Schools Cup Pool E match between Carrickfergus Grammar and Banbridge Academy on Saturday morning at Carrick.
Banbridge were quick out of the blocks applying early pressure to the Carrick line and the visitors opened the scoring after 4 minutes with Callum Little going over out wide.
The impressive Ryan Hanna picked up a first half brace either side of a try from Darragh Knox as Banbridge raced to a 0 – 28 lead with Andrew Jackson converting all four.
Banbridge captain Daniel Hutchinson was next to score before Knox picked up his second to take the score to 0 – 42 at half time.
Noah Bell, Luke Charman and Elijah Dempsey all crossed for Banbridge in the second half with Jackson maintaining his 100% kicking record for Banbridge.
Carrick kept battling until the end and they received some reward for their efforts with a well taken try and conversion from their scrum half Ellis Branagh.
