On Tuesday afternoon Ireland entertained Chile in a Pre World Cup warm up game at the National Sports Centre, Abbotstown, Co Dublin.

In very tentative and cagey 1st half, neither side could find the net. Ireland shaded territory and possession but couldn’t put away any chances.

Elena Tice’s strike in the 32nd minute opened the scoring to put Ireland 1-0 up. Two minutes later Irish Captain, Katie Mullan put away a cross from Deirdre Duke for a 2-0 lead. Ireland continued to press but couldn’t put away chances to lead 2-0 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

Ulster’s Katie Mullin continuing where she left off last season!

The game was effectively over when Siofra O’Brien found the net, after 48 minutes. Both sides created chances in the remaining minutes. Ireland held on for a not altogether convincing win.
