Early Saturday Morning I was back again at Stormont, when Sullivan Upper School hosted Dalriada in an U14 Girls Superleague fixture. The intensity of Friday night’s rain had lessened, now there were just light showers.

Sullivan dominated a scoreless 1st quarter but couldn’t beak a stubborn Dalriada defence.
The 2nd quarter saw Dalriada come more into the game, but Sullivan continued to have the lion’s share of territory and possession. Against the run of play Dalriada won a penalty corner and Keryn Lynas was on hand to slide in the opening goal. Dalriada led 1-0 at halftime.

Eventually the Dalriada defence cracked midway through the 3rd quarter and Sarah Burns equalised for Sullivan. It was 1-1 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

Sullivan laid siege to the Dalriada goal in the 4th quarter but couldn’t break the defence. In sporadic attacks Dalriada threatened the Sullivan goal. The 4th quarter remained scoreless, with both sides sharing the spoils at fulltime.
