We caught up with the fantastically fabulous Ulster U16 Hockey team on Sunday afternoon as they took on Leinster East U16 Hockey in the third round of the Interprovincial series at Havelock Park.

Despite big effort from Leinster East, who made a full contribution to a lively game, Ulster were in charge of this one from early on, the home side scoring in every quarter.

Emma McEntee is congratulated after opening the scoring for Ulster.

Emma McEntee opened the scoring on the 11th minute of the first quarter to give Ulster a 1 – 0 lead.

Gracey McNally scored Ulsters second goal

The home side picked up their second goal in the second quarter with Gracey McNally finding the net to put Ulster 2 – 0 up.

Anna McRoberts powered in Ulster’s third goal.

Anna McRoberts made it 3 – 0 in the third quarter and her goal was followed, three minutes later with a strike from Lara Wilson to make it 4 – 0 as the teams went into the final quarter.

Lara Wilson scored two goals for Ulster U16 against Leinster East.

A late strike from Wilson saw the score click over to 5 – 0, Wilson picking up her second goal of the game.

The Ulster U16 side have now won 3 from three, beating Munster and Connacht as well as Leinster East. They have scored 15 goals in the process and, impressively, have yet to concede a goal.
